Congressional Transportation & Infrastructure Committee Accepts Tamarack Aerospace Testimony to Fight Climate Change

Tamarack Emphasizes the Need for Sustainable, Dramatic Fuel-Saving Technology

(Washington, DC) Tamarack Chairman and CEO Nicholas Guida has submitted his testimony concerning the priority need to consider all aviation technology related to climate change solutions in two hearings of the United States House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.  The hearings were held at the end of March, however Tamarack’s testimony is now being included. The hearings are: “The Business Case for Climate Solutions'' and “The Administration’s Priorities for Transportation Infrastructure.” The testimony is also being shared with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and his staff.

In his testimony, Guida emphasizes that America and the world need to aggressively use all available current technologies to reduce carbon emissions. One such new and game-changing technology available right now, and gaining notice by the aviation industry and regulators, is Tamarack’s Active Winglet modification.  The technology is currently installed on over 130 Cessna CitationJets worldwide as the fleet continues to grow. Tamarack is working on using Active Winglet Technology to modify military, commercial and other business aviation airframes.

“Aviation must leverage all legacy, and especially new technologies, to constantly strengthen a perception that the industry proactively supports sustainability and science that will mitigate the negative outcomes of climate change,” says Guida. “We are looking forward to providing more science-based information to the committee, and will eagerly cooperate with all efforts to prioritize sustainable aviation.”

The full Congressional testimony can be read here.

“Active Winglet innovation delivers a CO2 and fuel burn reduction of up to 33% as compared to an approximate 4% fuel savings from different types of traditional winglets seen on many current commercial, business and military aircraft. Active Winglet technology stands out in many ways amongst other sustainability initiatives as a sustainability supporting immediate solution for reducing aviation’s carbon footprint to meet industry goals. We are looking forward to continuing our relationship with Congress to work towards these important sustainability goals” says Tamarack President Jacob Klinginsmith.

Tamarack commends the committee on its backing of current U.S. government programs to encourage innovation in aviation and hopes that kind of assistance increases, and that the committee will continue to encourage all technologies and efforts to embrace business cases for climate solutions including new technologies, refining existing technologies, and integrating the use of biofuels.

About Tamarack Aerospace

Tamarack Aerospace Group has revolutionized aftermarket winglets with its Active Winglet technology. Until now, winglets have typically only delivered marginal performance benefits - but Active Winglets deliver double-digit fuel savings, payload increase, significant range increase, outstanding climb performance, ride smoothing, increased structural life, and increased safety and stability. Active Winglets are more than an upgrade – they are a total transformation.

Tamarack Active Winglet technology increases a wing’s aspect ratio without increasing the aircraft’s structural weight, making it the most cutting-edge next-generation winglet available. The ground-breaking technology provides a truly transformative performance. Since structural reinforcement is not required, Active Winglets are lightweight, quick, and easy to install.  Follow Tamarack on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
