Tamarack Aerospace Group is seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic to become part of a company involved in providing revolutionary improvements in the performance of business jets and beyond. The qualified applicant will become a member of an elite, highly experienced development, consulting and production support team. This company is located in Sandpoint, Idaho.

An Aircraft Structures Mechanic will primarily be responsible for all aspects of the structural and mechanical installation of wing extensions, winglets, and control surfaces.

Essential functions

  1. Locate and install hi-loks, solid rivets, blind rivets, bolts and screws.
  2. Trim and fit wing extension leading edges.
  3. Apply Alodine and primer to aircraft structural components.
  4. Install and adjust mechanical components such as actuators, bellcranks, pushrods, and springs.
  5. Balance and install control surfaces.
  6. Remove and install aircraft panels, interior components, and control surfaces to facilitate other maintenance.
  7. Perform all essential functions in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.


  1. Understand and be able to apply common practices related aircraft structural repairs and modifications.
  2. Effectively use all hand and power tools commonly used in aircraft structural repairs.
  3. Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  4. Understand the use and navigation of ATA codes and aircraft maintenance manuals.
  5. Knowledgeable of the requirements of 14 CFR Part 145.
  6. Be able to read and understand English.

Supervisory Responsibility


Work Environment

Most work will be conducted in a heated aircraft hangar with occasional work performed outside during aircraft handling.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position is paid hourly, is expected to work at least 40 hours a week, and be able to work different shifts and weekends when necessary.


No normal travel is required for this position, but some travel may be required for training and other reasons.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred/Not Required Education and Experience

  • At least 4 years of aircraft structural repair or modification experience
  • FAA Airframe Certificate
  • Cessna Citation Jet (525) experience
  • AA/AS degree in related field

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must have own tools
  • Possess reliable transportation to and from the job site
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
